  • Hey everyone, I stumbled across this game and decided that I'd give it a try. I ran nexuiz.exe and it opened fine. I then attempted to begin playing the campaign sorta thing. It took me to the game and I pressed jump to begin. It looked like a cool game, and i went and got a gun and looked around. When I came to a bot I began firing, however in a couple seconds it blackscreened and told me that nexuiz.exe has stopped working. I tried it a couple different ways, tried all three .exe files, made sure it was unblocked in Windows Firewall, and all that stuff. I have come to the conclusion that it stops working almost immediately after I encounter a bot, whether I fire at it or not. Nexuiz looks like a great game, and I'd like to give it a shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Here's my specs.
    Windows Vista Basic
    Presario C500 (Compaq/HP)
    Intel Celeron M CPU 520 @ 1.60 GHz
    1526MB of RAM
And I think this is the video card... Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family? I'm not sure...

I think that's it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Great job, guys!

  • Try turning off all graphics effects (click on the "Low" button), and disable the following features in "Video":

    OpenGL 2.0 Shaders
    VBO
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • Awesome, it works fine now until I get fragged. :P The screen gets the red-shade-death-effect-thingy then it stops working.... I was going to play around with the settings to see which one was causing the problem, but I'd like to get this new problem figured out first. Thanks in advance!

  • Try adding the command line option -safe. This very obviously is a problem with your graphics drivers - have you tried updating them?

  • All C500's with a Celeron are going to have 32bit Vista.

You'll definitely want to update your video card drivers, directly from Intel if possible ( here )

Intel IGPs don't currently support OpenGL 2.0, so turning of GLSL can only help. Also, turn off particles, they kill Intel IGPs pretty good.
