I'm running Ubuntu 8.10, Just downloaded it yesterday, I got all the proper drivers and what not for my graphics card. Whenever I start up Nexuiz it runs fine, nothing wrong, but when I try and put it into windowed mode or exit the game the entire computer just locks up and the screen goes crazy (The entire screen is just a patchwork of random textures i've never seen before) and the only way to get it out of that is to force a reset. :\ Any tips please?

Also I should mention I cant alt tab out of it. Or CTRL Q out of it.

Can you please tell us about your system? In particular what graphics card you have and what drivers you are using with it.

I'm not sure which grathics card I have but I know that its an ATI, Idk how to check on Ubuntu. I found out that my hardware driver is ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver.

This is an ATi driver related issue, also occurring with the windows catalyst drivers from 8.9 to 8.12.

Lord Havoc (iirc) solved this problem with a workaround which is already available in the SVN version.

I get this too, to fix it I Ctrl+Alt+F1 into a console and kill nexuiz from there (do a ps ax | grep nexuiz to find it's PID then kill it). Then even the console goes crazy, but Ctrl+Alt+F7 back into X stops the crazyness.

I have a HD3650 card on Fedora 8.
