  • Nexuiz crashes whenever i try and change video settings or exit the game.

I want the game in my native 1440x900 resolution, can only play in 1024, looks awful.

Everything works fine changing Control/Multiplayer settings, also works fine in-game and multiplayer, no crashes.

    any ideas?

  • You can change the resolution manually still. Pull down the console in game and type:

    Code: Select all
    vid_width 1440
    vid_height 900

Then exit the game, load Nexuiz back up and it should work. Although it would be nice if ATi some time came out with a driver that actually works all of the time.

  • Hi,
Since 2 days I have the same effect. Exactely since I installed latest driver and Catalyst Software from ATI.
I have a nexuiz crash every time I exit the game or try to change video resolution.
    Removed Catalyst but still crashes.

  • There is a rather stupid bug in the ATI drivers that cause this crash. The next version (current development version) has a WORKAROUND for that driver bug.. There are several hints in the forum on how to get it, in case you want to try it.
Otherwise just avoid everything that causes an video restart in Nexuiz, like using the effects menu and change those settings by hand or in the config file and restart Nexuiz.
For the resolution thats vid_hight and vid_width

    FAIL! :o

ATi users are supposed to downdate their drivers to Catalyst 8.8 where everything works fine, or upgrade Nexuiz to the SVN version.

    I did, and it helped.
....from now on eagerly waiting for a release. I was impressed, better graphics, good performance.
