  • Just played 2.0 for the first time. It just keeps getting better and better guys :D

I played on the LAN with my kids, and I had public server enabled(Win32).

I kept getting a LHNET_Read error. What is this? Screenshot:

I have Nexuiz allowed in the firewall, and in my router:

    Any ideas?

  • Hmmm... did you use the forum (pre)release version or the one coming as nexuiz-20.zip?

  • I grabbed the one right on Nexuiz.com, right below the screenshots, 2.0 final. I also deleted my old Nexuiz directory before installing.

Another odd bug I just found. When I am in game, if I set my mouse sensitivity, then return the game in progress, I cannot look up or down, and when I fire, I get a message that I do not own that weapon.

  • Hm did you also opened the same UDP port, too?
I don't know if there might be some UDP connections as well and probably that's the problem.
But as far as you do not have any bigger problems while playing I wouldn't mind too much about it.

  • Yep I have the UDP port open. It shows which ports are open in the screenshot. Will this error prevent folks from joining on the Internet side? I know it doesn't effect LAN play.

  • Ah shit, I should learn to watch pictures more close. Sorry.

I can't say if it will affect internet play, but I think if players are able to join LAN games and if you are able to play online it should not matter.

In the forum beta there was a bug producing WSAECONNRESET messages due to Windows strangely accepting an empty string as a valid server name, causing all the the unfilled sv_master cvars to be accepted and return that error. (However the reasons for that specific error are not known to me)

This is surely something similar, but I don't know what.

    It is harmless but annoying.

I'd be very curious what is causing it...

  • As long as it isn't harmful to connecting clients or keeping them from connecting, I am good, but I am also very curious. Keep us posted?
