  • Quoted strings seem to be broken in cfg and mapinfo files

In my server.cfg I have this (and it used to work):
    g_weaponreplace_nex "nex nex nex campingrifle"

I played spirecontrol and none of the nex's turned into campingrifles. Last week they did turn into said weapon. Last time I updated was about 12 hrs ago or so (I think).

In a mapinfo I tried this (It didn't work):
    settemp_for_type all g_shootfromfixedorigin "46 -12 -7"

What they both have in common is that they accept a string and you need to quote it... and they don't work in cfg files anymore (though they genrally do work from console).

I'm reporting this here because my IRC connection is unstable.

  • Leave out the quotes, mapinfo just takes the rest of the line. Sorry, different syntax.

The weaponreplace however works just fine for me, wiht that very syntax. Can you verify using rcon that the cvar really has the right value?
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

    How do I do that?

I also have regular console access through vnc, is there a way I can do it there, that's easier (my rcon pass is some random value used by the change gametype script).
