I'm running Nexuiz 2.5 on my laptop and getting a crash with two video settings: Enabling Coronas or Flash Blend Approximation dynamic lightning causes the game to get stuck once I attempt to shoot a weapon. If I have either of the two enabled and try to shoot a gun, the game freezes and I can only close it using task manager.

My laptop is a Compaq 6720s running Windows XP SP2. Its video card is a Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family with the latest official drivers. I tried tweaking all 3D settings but no use. This issue did not happen with the latest version of 2.4.x.

2.5 uses a new method to make more realistic coronas.. Try r_coronas_occlusionquery 0 to disable the new way.

Just to make sure.. the real problem is that the ati driver reports that i can work with the changes in 2.5 but does crash when nexuiz does so..
The engine checks and uses only stuff the drivers reports to be available.. if the driver would say this feature is not available it would not be used and it would not crash at all.. someone please kill off ati!
