  • Hi people, I can't remember how long ago I started a thread in this section last time, but I have a strange problem now. My jump is on the right mouse click, and primary fire is on the left one. So when I do a laser-jump I just press both buttons at the same time. The problem is - now it doesn't work: if I press both buttons they just cancel each other (i.e. nothing happens). This thing occurred to me only on very slow machines where nexuiz was barely able to play. Btw, I use svn version... Was there something changed recently concerning the mouse input (maybe something in darkplaces)?

PS. Sometimes it works but most of the time - no.

  • Erm, what is your OS?

It could be middle mouse button emulation... To confirm this, try to bind something to mouse3
    Meh.

  • In case it is middle mouse emulation and you are using Linux, thank Ubuntu for messing this up. You can "fix" it by running

xinput set-int-prop "Razer Razer Diamondback 3G" "Middle Button Emulation" 8 0

before starting Nexuiz. You need to put in the proper device name, you get it from "xinput list".
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • Well, actually, I had mortar bound to the middle button (another weapons to wheelup/wheeldown), but I updated nexuiz and now it seems everything is OK. And, thanks for your attention :).

  • I think I know the most important cause of the problem - I had packet loss somewhere around 20%...
