  • When recording a demo, how do I use the fancy spectator camera? I want to spectate during a demo I recorded so I can get a better shot of something.

Also, is there any sort of "fast forward" or "rewind" support in demos? If so, how do I use it. I'd love to be able to skip the beginning of a long demo just to get to the good part.

    Thanks

  • iirc there's no rewind, but for fast forward (or to slow down):

    slowmo x

where 1 is default, 2 is twice as fast as normal gameplay, and 0.5 is half of it.

For the demo, there's one easy way, to install a development pk3 (it was posted here somewhere on the forum), if nobody else (or you) can't find it, I'll post you that today sometime.

There are no "rewind" function, (YET! :D) since this would require loads of rewriting of the engine. However there are fast forward and so on!

But, here you go, Good Sir! Save the democam menu file in in nexuiz/data folder to enable it. Now you should have a new menu (Press F5).

My tip is playing the demo and look for at what time the stuff happened that you want to record. Restart the demo and pull the slider up so you fast forward real good until the desired time.
Lookie here, for tips on setting up your config.

Also if you have the setting under "Video" - "Wait for gpu to finish each frame" ON, you can record with everything-on-max-ultimate settings and get really high quality video!
It will take some time to encode though, so just wait _patiently_!
