Hello. Please help.

Sound works fine, but I do not hear my own shooting, footsteps, damage hints, item-picking hints, ...
Feels very unnatural and I really miss hints.

Nexuiz 2.5.1 on Debian, kernel 2.6.30, nvidia graphic card, build-in realtek audio on MB.
