  • Yesterday on GreEn´s server i was not able to activate the free-fly-mode while spectating. Spectating other players was no problem.

  • I reported it to div0 since the updated progs.dat I'm using was in the branch SVN tree which is supposed to be the current stable bugfix version

Afaik you didn't update your default.cfg, so spectators won't be able to move due to a missing cvar.
    Add "set sv_spectator_speed_multiplier 1.2" to your server.cfg.

  • Ahh right and also add
    Code: Select all
alias gotomap "nextmap $1; timelimit -1"
    set sv_vote_commands "restart timelimit fraglimit chmap gotomap g_grappling_hook sv_defaultplayer_fbskin_green sv_defaultplayer_fbskin_red sv_defaultplayer_fbskin_orange sv_defaultplayer_fbskin_off"

    just to make sure :)

    Although not really this topic:

Is it spoken about GreEn's ladder server? /me and SickChicken were on that server when he restarted it, after the restart we relogged and tried to vote for changing to a deathmatch map (vcall chmap dm_lalala). The server informed us that the vote was successful, but nothing else happened. Server was just continueing with the same map on LMS mode.

I tried to simply command the server to change map (chmap dm_blabla), that's when I was kinda kicked off the server, still in a game but not on the server anymore AND alone (parallel universe?????).

    Weord

GreEn, still it's Your very own server do with it whatever You are pleased, but wouldn't it be better to stay tuned when changeing stuff on it so the players can report strange behaviour? :?

lol i asked myself a long time about it :)
actually you made a LOCAL chmap...

use "cc" before to make a server chmap (needs a 'ccl password' before if a password is set)

In this case: the current version requires both changes to default.cfg and to the progs.dat. Changing just one leads to trouble like this one.

    See: http://mensa.ath.cx/~polzer/temp/default.cfg.diff
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • well .. yes. I made the server to allow voting for chmap again very quickly after restart.

since you don't have the choice of just updading to have the bugs gone but also have to use the new standard settings for g_throughfloor etc., I will remove all bugfix patches again and have the servers running unpatched 2.0 until there's a official Patch (or it's forum version)

g_throughfloor 0 was intended as a bug fix, but then not accepted by the players.

    Just as an example.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again
