  • The SPIDER TURRET does not work, pleeease make it work

    It just stands there and does nothing.
    Same with the ewheel.

    Please make it attack it's enemies.

    Please.

    Also the vehicle_spiderbot doesn't appear on the opentest map (which had 4 spidervehicles vs turrets and spider turrets)

    Please make these work. Please comon they used to work. They have been broken for MONTHS! And I reported the breakage when it happened.
    PLEASE FIX.

    (The ONLY map that vehicle_spiderbot can seem to exist on is venueons12.
    They do not show up in the opentest map (with the terrain) and don't show up in destructabletestctf6 (even though I just raised their spawnpoint even further into the air).

    Please make the spiderbot turrets attack and the ewheels attack (they used to work in evadproject, don't anymore for a long time)

    Please.

  • Engines suffered from a md3 related bug for some time, rendering turrets fubar. Its, afaik, fixed now tough. Last time i checked both ewheels and spiders worked fine, if they dont your gunna have to live with it not working for some time (unless someone else fixed whatever may be br0kezoring them) as i have no time / motivation for nexuiz atm.

  • No, this isn't the "turrets sunken into base" bug. This is the :spider-bot-turret does not notice that there is an enemy it should kill infront of it anymore (example: on evadproject), and hasn't for 3 months bug.

    Well... due to work, you're probably never going to have time for nexuiz ever again, can you get someone else to pick up work on turrets and vehicles please? Once peeps get on with wageslavery their life is basically over (save for the weekend... maybe). They don't get any freetime untill retirement in 30 years hence.... if they get a retirement...and shortly after that they die. No time at all.

    If you gave someone the nod, would they take up your code and keep this going, or are turrets and vehicles dead and eventually gone ( :( ).

    Indespesable feature, dies by code rot. :(

    Anyway, thanks for making them. I use turrets in many of my levels.
    It totally sucks that they are breaking though :(
    And I looked forward to all the new vehicles for nexuiz that were going to come after spiderbot.
    But no one else cared I guess other than morphed.
    It's unfortunate that you didn't get much out of nexuiz :(
    The game has lost a great innovator.

  • I was a "wageslave" long before i started developing for Nexuiz, its not whats keeping me bzy. as for "get some one to blah" its perfectly available to anyone interested; if theres specific questions to answer ill do so if and when i can, however if i had time and motivation enough to tutor someone tough it id have time to work on it. catch 22. I did however test it this evening and it does run here. ill try tomorrow on a clean checkout if im not to hungover.

  • I'm actively getting acquainted with the codebase at the moment (only client QC side) and tracking low - medium priority bugs. As I'm new, I'm not all familiar with such a large project, I'd be happy to take a look at this if someone could point me to the file this fucntion would be contained in.

  • fixed a small bug in the code today that could cause weirdness on with uneven surfaces below vehicle/moving turrets spawns. perhaps this will help fix your problem.
