  • i never have this problem outside of nexuiz.

i am using a wired usb mouse which i have opened and cleaned. my primary fire shoots by itself randomly. this never happens when i edit giant audio projects or navigate the web. this only happens in nexuiz. i never get phantom mouseclicks in any other program. i think there is some kind of bug or crosstalk somewhere in nexuiz. no other program that i have used before or now starts registering extra mouse clicks randomly, so i know the problem doesnt lie with my mouse.

just a puzzle for me thats all, not a gripe.

    windows xp
    dell inspirion
microsoft 400 dpi mouse, wired usb (or wireless logitec, they both do this.)

  • Check your binds for +attack, maybe it's another button interfering.

  • I guess there's another USB device interfering. Haven't heard about phantom mouse clicks, but people having complained about randomly spinning around like breakdancers.

  • yeah, it really gets on my nerves. in the binds, primary and secondary fire want to always put in joystick 5 and 6, no matter if i specify only mouse 1 and 2. maybe these 'joystick' inputs are cross-talking with my keyboard.

seemingly for no reason, the primary goes off by itself as if i am holding the mouse button down. its really annoying and constantly leads to accidental teamfrags when im playing ctf.

  • try deleting / renaming your config.cfg to rule out configuration error

<Diablo> quake1 never had a weapon like that.
<Vordreller> there was no need for anything over 4GB untill Vista came along

  • I did that, and now i am on my third mouse. Still happening. Could it be caused by playing over wireless maybe?

  • I doubt it, if the wireless screwed up your data that much you'd see all sorts of odd stuff happening. this sounds like a very specific event, makes me think something is sending clicks or you somehow have +attack bound to something unlikely (but deleting config.cfg should have fixed that)
