  • Hello tutti,

Just a simple question: I have 2 PCs, one RJ45 cable, and nothing else more (no internet connection and/or box): is there any ultra-simple way to launch a LAN server so as to locally play on both PCs?

    Thanks for your lights,

  • If the cable is a "crossover cable" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_crossover_cable (a "normal" cable that you connect your pc to the modem/router/whatever with is NOT like that) you can connect the PCs with the cable only, otherwise you'll need two of the "normal" cables and connect both PCs to a router/switch etc. Once connected, you might need to set the IP's manually in your OS, after which you should just be able to launch Nexuiz, navigate to the create menu, create a game and find the server in the server list on the other PC.

  • be sure to check out the section called "automatic crossover".
<Community>: Why was the name "Nexuiz" licensed to IllFonic in a way that allows IllFonic to use the name without any suffix or subtitle for a commercial console game?

  • A local Atlantic network (LAN) server is a information and by implication usually the computer it runs in that serves the resources (files, storage, application programs, printers, and other devices for a number of attached workstations.
