Hey, just started playing nexiuz. I created a game with 4 bots and started rocking, and I noticed that whenever I strafe right or left while moving forward and shooting, my aim locks into position and I'm unable to turn untill I stop moving.

I'm able to move/aim simultaneously in any other direction though.

It could be a bug with mouse button detection, because I use a five button mouse and tried to bind secondary fire to "mouse4", but it registered as "mousewheeldown". All other games recognize mouse4.

Also, I use "mouse2" to run forward, and have been doing so since the days of quake1, but the game doesn't seem to like that.

If desired, I can provide more information in as much detail as needed to help isolate this issue.

Otherwise, this game is fantastic.

If you are on Mac OS X, try the SDL build or 2.0.1rc2.

Otherwise, no idea about your problem. Note that on Windows, the SDL build only works with up to three mouse buttons and a wheel. This is a limitation of SDL.

and how do you use weapons secondary fires ?

I have a similar problem.
I own nor the Logitech G15 keyboard in combination with an Mx518 Mouse and if I strafe the mouse "locks" so turning is not possible until I stop.

No problems in other games.

Thats why i´m not in Game the last time.

Which operating systems are you using, and which Nexuiz build (on all systems you can choose between a native version and a SDL version)?

What value does lookstrafe have? It should be 0. If the value is 1 moveing your mouse sideways will cause your player to strafe left/right but you can still look up/down with the mouse. Also if you use the turn left/right keys with lookstrafe 1 you will move in the direction instead of turning. I have however no idea what could cause it to become 1..

Lookstrafe is "default" (0)

The problem is only in the native Version from Nexuiz,
not in sdl. That runs fine.

What keys do you use when this does happen? And you are runinng windows i guess?

But it happens since I changed my keyboard to Logitech G15 !

Interesting.. i have the same one and never had Problem with the g15 on linux or windows.. But i must confess i normaly use the sdl version as it has less problems with deadkeys in the keyboard layout and could use surround sound on windows. (the next release can do surround sound on window with both)
Well just use the nexuiz-sdl.exe if its working, thats one of the reasons we deliver both exe's
