  • I can not get the game to go full screen. I changed the options for 1024x768 at 32bit and full screen. But the game stays in a small window. I tried other resolutions with no change I tried different windows resolutions and the window gets bigger but no full screen.
PC is P4 3GHz prescott processor with 1MB cache and is hyperthreaded. 1GB RAM. Video is nVidia 6600GT 128MB RAM on video. Running Windows XP SP2, and Norton AV 2003. My Windows desktop settings are 1024x768 at 32bit. Internet connection is 5MB down and 512K up.
I play FEAR Combat, Half-life (1-2), Quake 2-4, Unreal Tournament (GOTY and 2004), Warsow and others all with medium to High settings and without this issue.
    .
    Please help...

  • Is your desktop's color depth set to 32bit?
If its not, Nexuiz cannot switch to 32bpp and reverting to the previous mode.

  • Please open the console (with shift-escape, just escape again to close it) to see if there is an error message after you tried to switch to fullscreen.
Or open the console and type log_file error.txt and try then to switch to fullscreen, the file should then contain the same messages as the console. So you can just copy/paste it which should be easier :)

  • I also have a refresh lock program tht locks my refresh rate to 85Hz for 1024x768 32 bits. could tht be the problem? Does the game want a different refresh rate for that resolution? I changed my refresh lock to 60 Hz and I can go full screen now but my FPS are down to 30-40... How do i get them up to ahh lets say 100. I get a minimum of 80 in Half-life 2 so I should be able to about max out this game.
So i guess the question is now how do I increase the allowable refresh rate in this game? It evidentely want 60Hz for my resolution...
Thanks for you help guys i appreciate it...

  • Try "seta vid_refreshrate 85" in the ingame console (press shift+esc to open it), or create a new file Nexuiz/data/autoexec.cfg and add that line in there...

    Thanks for the help guys...
looks like I will try to get it running on my wifes PC now. It is a P4 2GHz with 512 RAM and a nVidia 5200 video card.

Hey is there a list of console command like the seta vid one? i would like to tweak the game like removing the player and weapon bobbing if possible and check out the othe comands available...

Again thanks... I will definitely recommend this game to those people with higher computer specs...
