I only played it at a friend's pc. Not long enough, but the electronic voice is awesome
But i played the predecessor: Narbacular Drop

it's a neat game...

Indeed it is. I actually am in love with that AI (GLaDOS). I would follow it without second thought. I wish I could marry it. "She" is quite funny, yes it is a womans voice.

Hmm, now it was mentioned twice. What's 'Narbacular Drop'? I search google images and I get Quake stuff and some pics on Portal.

It was a student made game that introduced the portal game concept. I think Valve pretty much snatched up the team from that to create Portal. I wish I hadn't played it because it totally ruined the novelty of Portal for me that everyone else is so struck by

You know, I see lots of people talking about loving the Weighted Companion Cube and all. They all miss it and wished they wouldn't need to kill it.
But in all honesty... WHAT THE HELL? It's just a fucking cube.. just tad different than the other "normal" cubes. Who cares about that/it? For me it was just like any other cube. People are easy to manipulate. I bet even Valve didn't mean the cube to be anything special.

However I still like the cube as it's kinda cute, but other than that I do not care.

Well, Valve did include the drawings on the wall of the cube with hearts around it (presumably drawn by a previous owner of the cube), and GLADoS does mock you for not having any friends; the only one being the cube, and you euthanized that.
