  • I'm gonna share some favourites with you guys. Hopefully, you don't know these yet.

    Most of these are previews.

    Funk
Amp Fiddler Some smooth oldschool stuff. (update)
Hercules and Love Affair These guys are definitely gay)). Anyway, who cares?

    Drum and Bass
High Contrast If you like DnB, you should look up for this guy. (update)

    Minimal Electronic
Booka Shade Their best track (imho) is called "Body Language". Mostly good stuff. (update)
Paul Kalkbrenner This one is my favourite track. Very deep stuff in general. That stupid animation has nothing to do with it actually :P And the tune is in fact about 6 mins long. (update)

    Tech House
Lopazz This tune had a heavy impact on me while being on shrooms. :P

    Techno
    Modeselektor. Weird. But danceable. (update)

    Usual House
Mylo - You should know this guy through his mashup "Doctor Pressure" (Doctor Beat vs. Drop The Pressure)
This thread doesn't like its URL: http://www.lastfm.com/music/Mylo/_/Muscle+Car+(Reform+Reprise)+(Album+Version)

    Lounge
Lawrence I feel, like I could listen to this forever. (update)
Moodymann Very smooth (and repetitive) stuff. This guy is genius.

    Balkan Beats
Shantel Fun, especially when you're drunk. (update)

    Weird 60s Spy Movie Trash
Messer Chups Funny and cheesy. Enjoy.

This is all for now. Thank you for listening.

Isn't Body Language a bit more electro housey?
    Anyway, it's indeed awesome.

Good tastes, a bit too downtempo for me though :p
I'm more into "filthy" electro house stuff

I forgot to mention Modeselektor. Crazy, but very danceable.

    Oh now that's neat!

But still not the thing I'm into...

Um... Well, stuff like Wolfgang Gartner or Miles Dyson is representative of what I like the most... At the moment :p

Already saw that one. It's amazing!
Still, I've heard the opinion from a friend DJ, that it doesn't suit for professional purpose. It seems to be more of a family tabletop game with sound. :P

@ Bougo: I definitely could dance on Wolfgang Gartners tunes. Though he's no real genius, but it's fun anyway.

    4m, you're hardcore :)

I wonder what the developers would say to that synopsis. :P
Here is an example of it being used by a 'professional' Icelandic singer-songwriter, composer, actress and music producer named Björk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJvNMMGS ... re=related

I heard she is best known for her expressive vocals and an interest in many kinds of music,[citation needed] [edit]

  • Nah, Nightwish...
Imho it's way too "epic" (kitschy in my words)
    Standard fragmovie music.

  • Another thing to add to my Minimal section.

P.S: When it comes to Metal, I prefer System of a Down. Because it's straight in-your-face-music. While listening to Nighwish (or Manowar) you're supposed to tremble before the epicness of the sound (narp) when listening to SoaD you get it instantly. It's like some kind of Minimalistic Metal. Which I personally favorize over the "epic" stuff.

Actualized most of the links in first post btw.
