Hi guys, Do you know any freeware single player FPS games out there that you can mod and make cool story maps for?

Like for example Half-Life singleplayer and those mainstream games?

I want to make a singleplayer FPS game but I am not a programmer and so I have to use an already made one and I prefer a free one so I can redestribute my work to everyone and everyone will be able to play it without having to buy a certain game, So what I am saying is if you guys know of any free SP FPS games out there?

you could try to make assault map for nexuiz :] its game mode where 1 team must fulfil several objectives and opposite team cant allow them to do that. It is something between single player and multi player and you can shape how map will be played to some degree :]
You can even force 1 players model to each side and make scenario where carnis forces are attacking human factory or something like that

I'm more looking for an FPS where you fight enemies and go from a to b and do certain objectives, Let's see what does assault mode features? How exactly would it go good for making single player maps with Nexuiz's assault mode?

Actually old Quake 1 is single player. Darkplaces (Nexuiz engine) is Quake 1 engine in it's roots. One could script a lot for it using QuakeC language (what you know as Nexuiz is written in it). You could learn more about Quake 1 scripting here: http://www.inside3d.com/

Anyway so you're saying I can make SP maps for Nexuiz and maybe even a full blown SP episode as well but that requires touching the source code at which point I have no experience in since I am no programmer at all, Sorry but this is the truth but on small scripting I think I can make something out

I recommend Sauerbraten or Cube, they both have their fair share of Quake style singleplayer maps.

Assault can easily be single player if you want it to be: evad project can be quite challenging with just you vs the map.
