  • Open notepad. Enter "bush hid the facts" (without the quotes). Save the file. Open it again. (does not work if you save as unicode)

  • What version of Windows? It just worked fien for me under Windows 98SE (on another computer).

  • This was on another board I go to. Someone explained it as a bug when you save in unicode or ANSI format or something. It's a bug related to putting any phrase into Notepad with a word with four, three, three, and five letters. Just like "this app can break" will give you the same error. So it's not so much a conspiracy or easter egg as it is just bad programming, but if you save in whatever other format that's available it's not a problem.

  • Its all triggerd by ansi char 20 (space) on the 5th, 9th, and 13th possition in a file of 18 bytes size. This maked notepads IsTextUnicode function return TRUE and the bug is triggerd. So no, it wont happen on Win98Se since it dosent use unicode. (the text in unalterd in the file, try opening it in wordpad for example)
