  • I have a second generation (smaller orange lit one) Logitech G15 that's starting to die on me. Any ideas on what I should replace it with. The keyboards I'm considering are: The classic Model M by IBM, a silicone roll up keyboard, the original Saitek Eclipse, or the Apple Aluminum keyboard.

yes well, if you use blender or any other whatever, buy a usb keypad, so its easy to put away when its not used and by that saving space. i dont like the thing being on the right side anyway, lots of moving hands or letting go of the mouse.. :?

I'm running Linux and I doubt anyone has gotten it to work completely with it. Not to mention it has a sky-high price. I was mostly looking at proven keyboards, I've actually used all the ones that are on that list (except for the one by Apple) at one point, be it I used to have one a while ago, or used it at a friends, etc. At the moment I'm leaning more towards the IBM-styl Unicomp keyboards which are pretty much identical to IBM old keyboards that were first put into production in the 80s.

  • A Keytronic keyboard if you can find it. Insanely strong so lasts a long time and always a very nice typing experience, unlike these perverted gaming keyboards.

  • I do not recommend Original Saitek Eclipse.
It can't handle many simultaneous key presses. Plus the buttons feel weird. And the paint on the keys vanishes after some months of gaming :P

I can only recommend you buy a new G15 :P

  • My first gen G15 space key is starting to miss keypresses when pressing it on the left side :(

Good thing that it's now possible to just hold it down for bunnyhopping :P

If it dies completely, I might go for the second generation G15 (or G19?)

I have not got much kno on the new boards out, but if your looking for something that will last it should do the job.

Might look for one like that. I use to have an older model almost Identical to it, except that it didn't have them windows keys on it, very durable. I had to throw it out because there was: sweat, blood (don't ask me how it got on there), dirt, and soda all over it. I ripped it open and cleaned it, but something got messed up when I did that. The only downfall of those keyboards is that you can't jam down an excessive amount of keys, which isn't really a problem especially since I use a keypad (good ol Cyber Snipa 2) for movement anyway.
