  • What happened to /dev/null?

BTW: most of these messages can actually occur on a Linux system if you mess up /dev/null the right way. For example "/dev/null: Read-only file system" happens during boot if /dev/null was deleted and replaced by a regular file writable to everyone.

But I don't want to know who is insane enough to put /dev/null on NFS.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • that's not how it'd look on a UNIX system...

BTW, I was thinking of also adding "too many levels of symbolic links" :P

  • We need a collaborative pee poll. So you can either vote the first time you pee or wait until after you pee five times and vote... together we must reach 1,000.
