the practical course in computer graphics i took is now finished.

I remember my prof saying: "just don't try to write a raytracer your self". And I'm quite sure he said so because he thought we were too stupid to do that. So ... kudos!

I learned that theory and implementation are really really REALLY two different kind of things
And that you can only talk to two categories of persons in rl about your work:

1. people who don't understand the things you do at all ("Nice pictures" followed by silence followed by the question "and which one did you do?").

2. people who have written a raytracer a hundred times, and when you ask them something the answer always starts with "Well, that's easy..."

So i'm really glad not to have those conversations anymore
