Not for long.
All the developpers that worked on the current Nexuiz have quit and moved over to Xonotic.

So yes, currently, Nexuiz is still working.

But as time passes, all the popular servers will quit supporting Nexuiz and only host Xonotic.

Nexuiz is still running now. Nobody has been able to do something final, because not enough time has passed.

Why you do not just simply stay with Nexuiz.. ?
That will split the community.

Because all Nexuiz devs have switched to developing Xonotic by now.

As soon as Xonotic gets a release out, thats the last time I play nexuiz.

I strongly believe that we make a statement by our own actions in life. Especially things like these, were there are actually time to reflect about the consequences BEFORE putting things in motion.
I will not in any way condone the treatment of people I highly respect by using or by any means affiliate myself as a player, nor as a general FLOSS advocate with in this case is, alientrap or that illfonics.

If the project's name would have remained Nexuiz after what happened with Illfonic, it would have only done us more harm imo. For one thing we would be used by them to promote their console version. Second, everyone would be confused between the console version and the GPL PC version, and incorrect associations would be made. Then who says they wouldn't easily buy the name (which they likely will at some point) throwing us away if we would have stood there? I know this will be difficult for a while, but given what happened I believe it was the best choice.

To my understanding there is A LOT more than just three guys who could even claim ownership of the name. EVERY SINGLE person with said "ownership" would have to agree to a sale and I don't think that will ever happen. One thing that will always amuse me is IllFonic in the end just paid money for a typo! lol and anybody that does a Nexuiz search is bound to find out what went down and well as a result of that, bye bye sales.

lee _stricklin, people who buy games don't on the whole care about stuff like that. They really don't, Nexuiz community is not representative of ps3 player base.
