  • Total nonsense imho. I prefer UTC, that's at least easy to convert.

Then you have missed the point to an impressive degree. The whole point about "beats" is to make it easier to communicate times over time zones, as i has no time zones, also the separation of the day into 1000 beats makes sense. Our method of calculating time made sense in earlier times, but its hell to work with.

The main point is that some time of the day.. say 700 beats is the same time no matter where you are, so If I tell someone in the US I'm going to call them at 700 beats, it will be the same time for both of us.

Nope, i haven't missed the point. My point is: you want to change the definition of time for about 6 billion people. UTC is a much more convenient universal time format, since you just need to add/substract a few hours.
And that time format just devides a day 1000 beats, that's 86.4 sec. per beat, but it doesn't define smaller intervals, so it's use seems pretty limited to me...

Same goes for UTC or Unix time ;)

yeah- but that would not make thinge that much easie, now would it.

btw this discussion lines right up with my "esperanto should be the new language all over the wolrd" thing :)

If you are going to make things better, you might as well do giant leaps :)

and we all know that british and americans will use their own system for 500 years after everyone else has come to their senses anyways.
