I'm at work. Here are work, we use what is known as a firewall. Firewalls are wonderful things, except when they are not.

I would like to join the Nexuiz IRC chat, but there is this firewall problem.

Any web-based IRC gateways out there?
I did a search but came up with nothing yet.

I would like to help you and the answer BTW is "yes", but if you get caught doing things like that, you can get into really serious trouble. Better ask the responsible person of your network first. If he says it is okay to use a web-based interface for IRC (that is, if there is not a POLICY to block IRC, but a web proxy that just CANNOT pass IRC and nobody else needs it), then you are free to do that. If there is a policy to block IRC and you get caught at circumventing that using a web IRC gateway, you risk your job.

BTW, it didn't take me long to find an open CGI:IRC server I could use to successfully connect to anynet. Let that be enough of a hint to you.
