  • respawn when releasing the fire button to prevent shooting on respawning

That pretty much takes care of my problem in instagib when I always started with a shot less than normal because I shot on spawn.

  • ai, now you got buster wrong. when writing "shot" he meant "shoot" which isn't a big problem on minstagib, it's more the problem on LMS when spawning with the RL in front of a wall :x

On minstagib I was so lucky to frag someone when spawning, spawnfrag in a different way

  • Just to point out, the date is wrong on the news page. I suspect other people like me who check this page from time to time will probably miss the update assuming its an old one.

No it does not, that thing was not touched since it has been corrected. But thats a server side thing so maybe you just played on a older server? Or you have an progs.dat without that fix laying around when it was a local game. But anyone with such a file should know what they are doing ;)

  • i'm on kubuntu 7.04 herd 3 with the u.s. repos. i can see version 2.2.3 for the "nexuiz" and "nexuiz-server" packages but only version 2.2.2 for the music and data packages. i can't upgrade cuz it'd break the install. can anyone else confirm this?

You are correct - there is a broken dependency in the package. It looks as though they intend to push out 2.2.3 (at least) for feisty, which is pretty good news. However they only sync'd the nexuiz and nexuiz-server packages (and not the other two!) with Debian. According to the bug reports Adrien Cunin is in the process of fixing that, as of yesterday, so the package should be upgradeable soon.

  • Sure.. both the complete zip and the patch include the files for ALL platforms (windows, linux, mac). Its just that the mac gui does pretty senseless stuff when extracting the patch zip file via gui. (If you extract the patch and 'move' it, it will overwrite and delete the old files which are still needed. If you extract via command line it works like a charm)

  • Actually, to "install" the patch on OS X, there is a second working method:

Extract the patch, then copy or move the PK3 files in data/ from your "full" version INTO the patch's data directory! Then use the icons that were included in the patch. That works...
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • I've gotta say it-- and there's no better place than here:

Nexuiz rules. The community rules. The online play is awesome, and, with version 2.2.3, I carry it on my flash-drive wherever I go.

    Keep on rockin' guys!
