  • YaaaaaaaaaaaY! gj and congrats! :D

For server admins who do not want to download the entire zip, behold: I give you...

Damn Small Nexuiz Server Version alpha3!

Release: http://www.hrfdesign.com/crap/dsn/dsn_server_alpha3.zip (30 mb, includes linux binaries)
    Build script (aka sources): http://www.hrfdesign.com/crap/dsn/dsn_server_script.sh (< 1kb)

It is (or is supposed to be :P) fully compatible with 2.5.2. It only removes unneccessary files for servers like textures, sounds etc. check out the script for more info. Do note that it does not contain tutorial, the turret test maps, ons-reborn, nr_piece-o-cake, cyberparcour01 or racetrack (the script can easily be adapted to include those, however).

Hi, sadly this release doesn't seem to run on my server:

    Code: Select all
    ./nexuiz-linux-686-dedicated: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by ./nexuiz-linux-686-dedicated)
    [ugh] tapas@tarzan:/home/games/Nexuiz$ grep GLIBC_2.7 nexuiz*
    Binary file nexuiz-linux-686-dedicated matches
    Binary file nexuiz-linux-686-glx matches
    Binary file nexuiz-linux-686-sdl matches
    [ugh] tapas@tarzan:/home/games/Nexuiz$ grep GLIBC_2.3 nexuiz*
    Binary file nexuiz-linux-686-dedicated matches
    Binary file nexuiz-linux-686-glx matches
    Binary file nexuiz-linux-686-sdl matches
    Binary file nexuiz-linux-x86_64-dedicated matches
    Binary file nexuiz-linux-x86_64-glx matches
    Binary file nexuiz-linux-x86_64-sdl matches

Is this expected behaviour? 2.5.1 ran fine..

EDIT: Fixed it with a recompile of the server binary.. Here's a gameplay video from a nice warmup massacre we had after getting it to work :)

  • Awesome release, I especially love the electro's new secondary fire effect. Ran into two things on Stormkeep I disliked though: The floor texture on stormkeep isn't as cool looking as the old one and there's a HUGE (20 frames drop WITHOUT any character models on the map) over by the electro and super health. Other than those two gripes this release is easily the best one.
I have left this website with the rest of the GPL Nexuiz community. You can find us at Xonotic.org

Oh, i thought it was a problem with my map. Screenshot coming up in the next edit :)

I guess that of course my map could still be to blame.. Worked fine with SVN builds though...
