Vehicles?

Anything to do with Zymotic here

  • I'm not involved with zymotic so it might be wrong but i have not heared about planned vehicle support in zymotic.
    And it might be a good idea to post more then just a !#@$% smiley if you want to get people to answer your questions.

  • Sorry, but the thread title did seem to say the question, and enemy vehicles are mentioned on the webpage.

    There are vehicles mentioned? Hmm i can't remember reading about vehicles.. But someone from the zymotic people is more qualified to tell you facts :)
    Well i do not really mind but i think its kinda nice to write more then just smiley.

  • I wonder if it would be possible to borrow some code from the carcass of Team: Nexuiz, or perhaps the project it turned into.

    Alaris is based on a q3 engine, so that won't help much...

  • I actually had an idea for a vehicle in nex.
    It would require minimal coding (althought im no coder so I can be sure) and would be VERY different from other games.


    Basically there is a large structure, thsi large structure is part of the map.
    In the large structure there is a control room in which there are many buttons.

    Lets say 6 of these buttons make it move. when you hit one of the buttons the large structure turns X degrees.

    In another part of the structure there is weapons control. In weapons control you hit a button and a single weapon is fired. ( I think this would be the trickiest to code, but again, I'm no coder so I cant be sure)

    This is just the basic drift of the idea.

    It would be best if these vehilces were in space or on the ocean but it might be cool if they were really giant tanks.

    I would be hard to aim. Thats why instead of firing a single rocket (or whatever) it fired barages in multiple directrions.

  • just make a big mover platform with heaps of machine guns inside

    so with 3 or more people you could totally chop through players on foot with not much cover

    i think vehicle like movers would add a lot to gameplay

  • I played a game called War Rock before where you could drive vehicles. I thought it was loads of fun to mix in running and vehicles. If you add in the speed and physics of Nexuiz along with using vehicles, it could be really interesting!
