Another thing that, although, seems to be intended, is the new voices and taunts. I kinda like the "yeeeah" and "pussy!" voices when I frag somebody or get fragged.
What I don't like, however, is hearing those voices every time somebody frags some other body that's on the same server.
Why is that? Does it have to be? Can I change some setting so I just hear the sounds that concern my own dumb self?

No, but you can turn them off (and also they are turned off by default).
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again
You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I guess this is already known but I don't want to leave it unmentioned:
The Nexgun isn't visible when joining a 2.5 server with the 2.42 but also the current SVN version.

At least in the case of the 'dcc new' server it was a config mistake. For others, well those servers would need to offer a compat pack for 2.4.2 clients. There was none offered but basicly this beta was more for client testing as again, we will hardly get any reports from beta servers..
