  • I advertised the game in my site: IMBACORE.

I would like to ask permission from the game's developers to use their screenshots from the Nexuiz site, if it's ok.
It would be better if I could display them there. At the present, only links to the screenshots are found in my site, driving traffic here. (Although I already placed a link to the Nexuiz site before.)

I also posted the promotional video that was found in YouTube.

I love the game but 2.3 proved to be laggier than other games. I hope the current version's CPU resource tweaks have solved the problem. (I can't test it now, in the process of ordering a new videocard; my old one fried.)

  • Hi there. Thanks for that. Sure you can use those screenshots, though i noticed some do not use fsaa but they should be ok otherwise.

Do you mean 2.4 is laggier? There was a bug in the movement predication that only showed up under certain fps/connection combinations but is fixed for 2.4.1 which should be released soon.. also see the 'please help test the hotfix thread' ..

  • You are welcome. Like you, I appreciate efforts into making freeware games. Nexuiz 2.3 blew out my impression that freeware = sucks graphically. Thanks for this great game.

Nope I meant 2.THREE lagged. I don't know why it lagged, as Alien Arena 2007 and Tremulous didn't. It wasn't the custom-made maps either. All maps lagged though those at Galt's Gulch ran smoother.

I included a note in my article that 2.4 has
The latest version has a lot of engine optimizations though
so as to encourage past 2.3 players to DL the game.

I have not played any of the new versions of Nexuiz and AA 2K8 though. My vidcard just went south and am waiting for a new one.

    Thanks for the permission.

  • Well i think the basic bug with the movement prediction was also in previous versions, but i think in 2.4 it was more visible.. so maybe 2.4.1 will still fix it for you. Might be worth to wait for that if you get your graphic card earlier ;)

Hope you like it when you can play again..

  • Thanks, I hope it will. 2.3 hurt my eyes something kinda fierce. I really couldn't play for long --- the reason why I kept coming back was I like Nexuiz's serious, sci-fi theme.

So when will 2.4.1 come out? (Just in case the bug will be there still for my system)

Also, thanks for the permission! :D I already posted the screenshots and posted news about it in this article. (With credits of the permission going to you of course)

  • I got my video card. So should I wait for 2.4.1? I'm happily playing War Rock, WC3: FT (Battle Net and with my friends), Ground Control ONE (classic!), and Men of Valor at the moment.

Is the bug that bad? DId the hotfix solve it for some people? I scanned th thread and I don't know where it tilts --- solved the problem or not.

It's Sunday dawn in my country now. When is 2.4.1 coming out?

My apologies for the flurry of queries but I'm excited about this little video card of mine. (It's a downgrade lol! Stopgap solution until I buy a new rig.)

  • You're welcome.

The hotfix thread now has a "2.4.2.zip" in it. So 2.4.1 is a hotfix, not a new, full version?

EDIT: Nvm. I just read Esteel's reply in the thread:

"THIS might be 2.4.1 if no more problems are to be found. "

Will DL this after work and give it a spin.

  • I just heard about the 2.4.2 patch. Glad this came out. I will download this tomorrow --- I fervently hope the client prediction bug has been all but eradicated. :D

I posted the good news in my site HERE.

I also posted links there to my other articles about the game in case readers might want to see gameplay and promotional screenshots of this great game.

I can't wait to see Nexuiz without that bug. Will be one helluva shooter! :D

  • Thanks but would you mind giving CORRECT info on your page?
2.4.1 had a problem with client prediction that resulted in some players experiencing stutter-like glitches with the game. In the game's readme file, they have listed this glitch as one of those they have rectified with this release.

I think i said 1000 times.. THERE NEVER WAS a 2.4.1 release! There only was 2.4! There were several unofficial hotfixes that COULD have become 2.4.1 .. but as you see A LOT of people thought 2.4.1 was out so when it finally WAS released it was agreed to use version number 2.4.2 to make sure to everyone THIS now was the final and REAL release..

  • Could you please dispense with the caps and the exclamation points?

I am sorry about this misunderstanding but I downloaded several 2.4.1 zip files and the article refers to those. There never was any suggestion in that article that 2.4.1 was an official, final release. In my mind, I was referring to the collective that the 2.4.1 zip files represented (regardless of whether it was released or not).

I already edited the article and replaced 2.4.1 with simply 2.4.

  • HAHA! After trying the game, I just came back to tell you: NICE! Best release ever! No movement bugs detected. (There was some stutter but this occurred in places where a lot of bots and players were squeezed in a tiny map so I suspect that was my rig beginning to have a hard time rendering everything.)

AWESOME! I hope you guys will launch a full-blown singleplayer campaign with a background plot. (Zymotic?)
