Server-client keepalive wtf??

  • Just a few minutes ago when I was playing on DCC's pussydelight, the map changed, the auto DL started. instead of showing me the progress, I was showed a "???". When the auto DL was finished, the server-client keepalive was started and I couldnt join anymore (no, the server wasnt full). I pressed F11 and tried to rejoin. Server-Client keepalive. F11 and rejoin. Server-Client keepalive. F11. Suddenly the server wasnt on the list anymore. F5 (on which I have a bind to "join [IP of pussydelight]"). Nothing.

    I had to close Nexuiz and start it again before I could join the match again. Somebody an idea what could have happened? :?

  • I had the same problem. Though I didn't download. Yesterday I played on thr RBI CTF server and when it changed the map it said Server-client keep alive, tried to rejoin but it kept saying that, I played the first map of the campaing cause I knew I wouldn't be able to join now, and there weren't any people on other servers. And then after a while (when I was done with the map) I tried again and it joined.

    Intriguing.

    My best theory is that the autodownload script for that map might be causing a console parsing error in the client (if so it may be the server admin's fault, like missing a trailing blank line at the end of the script).

    Alternatively it may just be heavy packet loss (causing the reliable join messages to fail to send each time, and it takes a while to repeat each one), which would more strongly affect a very long join message than a short one.

  • i have this problem too (i play only single player in my home but when i go in cyber coffee i play in @)

    never person have a solution? (maybe in the future version of nexuiz you can corrige this problem)

  • Try connect server_ip:port in console.
