  • Please observe the following rules:
    • Please stay on topic, this forum is only for map reviews, this is not for general discussion of wanted/needed maps, only for reviews of released map revisions (whether beta or final), please keep any threads about map ideas and other discussion in the General Discussion forum.
    • Each map revision gets its own thread (I.E. arboria_beta1, arboria_beta2, etc would be separate threads).
    • In opening post please state clearly which game modes are intended to be supported by the map.
    • Make sure that each thread gets a poll named "Map Quality" with the following choices:
      Code: Select all
      Good
      Bad - Items
      Bad - Design
      Bad - Problems

Suggestions for poll changes are welcome, feel free to discuss the map review process here.

  • Some poll options to consider:

    Bad - Preformance
    Bad - Gameplay

Checkboxes woudl be better since its not exclusive options =)
    HOF:
<Diablo> the nex is a "game modification"
<Diablo> quake1 never had a weapon like that.
<Vordreller> there was no need for anything over 4GB untill Vista came along
    <Samua>]Idea: Fix it? :D
<Samua>Lies, that only applies to other people.

Agreed. Also, I kind of wish a tabulated survey were available... just saying something is bad isn't very informative. If there were categories (the same ones discussed), which could be rated from 1-5 in each...

  • Agreed, but I could not do these things with the forum :)

This is just a forum-centric solution (fixing broken maps) to a forum-centric problem (not enough feedback on forum threads during level development).

Since there wasn't enough feedback during development, I decided we need a dedicated forum for the purpose, where each beta build of a map gets feedback rather than a single thread.

Mainly to reduce confusion and bring additional attention to already-released maps that are in dire need of improvement - or just being taken out and shot to put them out of OUR mysery :)

  • I should clarify one point of confusion on the map polls - I chose the choices very intentionally, they are general rather than specific because specific issues can be discussed in posts, chances are if "Bad - Design" is chosen it's always due to the same problems, which will become obvious in the discussion, so I did not want to dilute the voting by offering too many choices (would need checkboxes for that).
