  • Hello there

    Probably someone still knows my from the old forum (unlikely because i wasn't very active there) and now I'm back :)

    And now I have a very good idea, motivated by esteels 2.0 pics (please tell me if there is already such a thread):

    SHOW ME YOUR BEST SHOTS!

    Just a screenshot of the game - seeing it and you just think: hey, THAT looks nice/cool/l33t-h4cxx0r-shit-f1n3 ;)

    Nexuiz has very nice effects and even ordinary level shots already look very cool.
    But I'm sure you will find much better shots on your drive (or while a match, capturing one) with famous action and so on.

    So come on :)

  • Hi there guys i hope you all will enjoy these pics of an 5 man pyramid which was achieved. A very rare and pleasant break from instagib fragging i must add! The people involved were pixelpapst, hawk, TVR, uhuznaa and me the yellow robot! :D Great funn guys and maybe we can break some records in Nexuiz pyramid building!hehe...
    (please note in the bottom picture there are four ppl stacked as i came down to take a screenshot!) :lol:
    so tell me what you guys think !!!

  • okay just when you though nex pyramid building was over! look again!
    and a new record of seven, yes seven players! great fun oh yes. I want to say thank you to all the brothers that took part which were : DarkComedy, easimon, xororand, XT(no), hallodri,wummel and last but not least timonator! those guys did the hard part all i did was press f12
    8)! Great great fun from the nexuiz instagib community! all comments/pms
    welcome. How many more can we manage next time i ask myself! :wink:

    To make a one-person tower, bind a key to the command 'impulse 14' and press that key to clone yourself. Then jump on top of your clone and repeat.
    Cheats must be enabled.

  • We achieved an astonishing tower of 12 players under the steady lead of YELLOW ROBOT. Many thanks to the patience of all who participated, to XT for providing the server and for the amazing endurance and patience of our tight bro YELLOW ROBOT!!! :D :D :D

    [edit: I added 2.0 screenshots and demos two months after I originally posted this]

    Of particular interest are the ones here - I have one of those set as my wallpaper. The shots in this set, except for the first two, are taken over a span of less than ten seconds and document one of my opponents' demise.

    LOL! That eyeball is me! Weird... i seem to have a tendency ending as an eyeball... although I'm a robot... weird. Damn! I wish I had taken that screenshot! Why didnt I make that screenshot??? >_<
    GOOD ADVICE: If in doubt, make a screenshot (F12). You never know what it could be good for and you can delete it anytime.

    Esteel, those shots are ace! Do we get to play that? It looks extra-terrific!

    That map has a few issues in Nexuiz. The textures for the torch flames, the skeleton and skybox are missing. I guess esteel took these textures from q3, but that's not legal for redistribution.

    However if someone would replace them (the map's license allows that) with textures that are freely distributable, i'd setup a server with that map :)
    (and recompiling it with deluxemaps would be nice, too)

  • The textures of the map (Pyrmid of the Magician by sock) are included with the pk3 and are no original q3-content but custom as well.

    The poor thing about this map is that the skybox doesn't work and the great terrain-blending which this map showed off for the first time really well only works with q3.
    You won't like to play this map with nexuiz if you've played it in q3, but it's great anyways.

    And it's good to see the offset-mapping working so well 8)

    Does this mean that Nexuiz support terrain fully now with the updated Q3 shader support?

    No, it's just you. The terrain blending is missing on those shots.

    Tries yes, does no.. Its to bad realy - without some form of terrain blendning i doubt there will ever be any good outdoor maps in nexuiz.

    However i must say that i looked alot better then i tought it would the seems are not *that* visible.

    I already INTENSIONALLY replicated the "floating gun" bug from the "old days" just to simulate the feel of vehicles, if anyone remembers. "Ghost Gun" was included in my Ghost Mod alpha.

    really ? just post a link to the files and some more explanations about deluxemapping compilation for *noobs* and i can recreate textures from scratch without any problem and release them GPL. If it's only that, i can do whatever you want about image creation / treatment.

    so... first thing i'll ask the permission to the author (who knows ?)
    and second thing... it seems the current license allows me to modify and distribute the map if i quote the original author's name.
