  • Well, you can have a release every day, if you pull from SVN. It's easy on linux :D

The problem with that is the client's and the server's versions start to drift and, you need to download all these svn_compat files.

  • This is the problem with popular servers as they all became SVN ones.

  • Problem? I think it's both positive and negative. It's allowed for more testing and challenged current understanding of needs and procedures. Certainly I don't think it'd be a good thing if all servers were SVN because releases are notably more stable and it just makes life easier :).

As for a release schedule... I think that's something the project should consider because extended periods of time without a stable release can cause a decline in interest... but I do understand the want/need for 2.5 to be more rounded...

Bolded important parts in prev. post. All is not 100% but more than 3/4, imo, to be precise.

  • A new version once a year with major features that breaks backwards compatibility between client and server sounds fine for me.

And if physics change, it takes very, very long to re-learn. (well, for me).

I honestly can't tell if this is a sassy comment or not.

  • I think it is good to brake things once in a while, it keeps the players on the edge, and levelling the playing feald...
The latest realise had some changes to its physics(I think so at leest), and I have to sat it was a gr8 move, you do not feel like a lead weight any more... (some servers has reverted to the old physics stings though...)

over all I think that Nexuiz gets better and better for every realise, even when it brakes with how it was before...

and i love the "skiing"(auto bonny hopping), it is just like the skiing in Tribes 1/2... and the jetpack makes it even more like it tribes... ^_^
