  • Hi,

starting today, we are shuffling the maplists for the 4 public servers once a day.

For the technical background, see this post.

The currently playing maplist for the DM server is always visible on the Maplist page.

    Sxen

(PS: I'd like to use this Thread as some kind of "announcement thread" linked from the http://delight.vapor.com/ main page, so please don't reply to it. Thanks :-))

  • Hi,

there's an IRC channel into which chat, scores and other assorted messages from the DCC Delight servers are gated. It's #dccdelight on ArcNet (not Quakenet). You can use "delight.vapor.com" Port 6667 for a server. If you have something which groks IRC URLs, you can click on

    irc://delight.vapor.com:6667/dccdelight

There is an IRC bot for each of the servers sitting on the channel:

dccdelight - is for the Plain DM server
gbdelight - is for the TDM server
newbiedelight - is for the Beginner's server
pussydelight - is for the Minstagib server
onedelight - is for the 1on1 server

Additionally, the messages are color coded per server.

Using the "/ignore"-function of most irc clients it's possible to select which of the servers you want to see.

  • Hi,

Strahleman's q3mappack4Nexuiz.pk3 is now installed on the Delight Servers, making all the maps available via "vcall chmap".

Since all maps are in a single .pk3, autodownload of a single map will actually (after quite some time) get you all the of the maps. If you prefer to download the pack without rate limiting, you can do so at http://delight.vapor.com/maps/q3mappack4Nexuiz.pk3 -- put the resulting file in "dlcache" (and make sure your browser didn't rename it to .zip or so on the fly)

In addition, the following maps are now in the standard map rotation for the Plain, Minsta and TDM servers:

      'dm_ikzdm1'
      'dm_pukka3dm2'
      'dm_qbeast'
      'dm_quimera'
      'dm_straledm5'
      'dm_klzegypt'
      'dm_bal3dm3'
      'dm_batcula'
      'dm_chronic'
      'dm_geo-core'
      'dm_jaxtourney2'

They're also available for voting on the Map List and Vote page at http://delight.vapor.com/maplist.php

    Enjoy :)

  • Hi,

the big all-in-one .pk3 has now been replaced with individual map .pk3 files for much quicker download.

  • the TDM server hung today until someone did a vcall restart. Can you please check your server log for related log lines?

Look for errors related to exec and changelevel, please.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • The servers now run 2.2.1 (and, thanks to div0 and esteel, a patch which should prevent the "hanging after map" problem)

  • Still, why doesn't this happen on my server then? Maybe it is a map I don't run on my server... the Q3 mappack seems to be a bit buggy anyway and needs a fix... for example, it has lots of shotguns, but no MGs, and one REALLY bad performing map

No need for that. :) And thanks to Sxen for supplying the server, to the Alientrap team for their work on Nexuiz and to all the players who visit the DCC's servers making them a lively place. :)

  • Hey,
First I'd like to thanks sxen and nil for this servers, the only 1on1 playable server for me and one of the only playable DM server (where some nice players use to play on =) ).
But ... since v2.3 I have really bad performance on all (even on 1on1).
My problem : every second or two I have a freeze and my ping jump between 60-120.
    Unplayable.
I'd like to know if some ppl have the same problem on those serv.
On the other playable server for me : batserver and ... batserver :/ I havn't this problem, but it still on v2.2.3.
I can't say if this problem is caused by v2.3 because all the other use to lag with me.
Strange thing : when do "ping delight.vapor.com" I have average of 47ms
    pn.de : 63ms
    spinfusor.de : 52ms
and I havn't those strange lag on pn or on sf ...
I someone got an idea that's would be cool, else I'll never can play on DCC anymore so I'll can't play nexuiz at all ... (Yeah sxen I know you will be happy =) )

  • I'm pretty sure Nil and Sxen are very weird and use minping cvar on server. Me and green tried to talk them out of it but they refused :P
So, I'm sure your problem is gone when (if) they disable that.
(of course I'm not 100% that is the problem, but 99.9999% sure)

  • do you have problems on the DCC ladder server too ? or only on the DCC public servers ?

EDIT: for me the LaidBack server really performs bad. movement isn't only lagged but also choppy.

I wanna say thank you again to the admins :) once again for providing the servers. Note that my words are sarcastic.

    Thank you!

  • The machine is currently just overloaded with all the servers, it seems. I've ordered a new box which should hopefully arrive sometimes next week. The CTF server is disabled in the meantime.

  • The stats seem to freak a little. In the player stats overview PRAYER comes with 405 kills per match. Well, PRAYER is good, but not that good :D

Can you maybe update the qstat config like on the old server so that we have 'this other games' stats back? :)

  • The stat issues are now fixed. There was a pretty longstanding bug in there insofar as the stats engine mistok the game score for the number of kills, which is wrong for DM & Co. as well, but less obvious so. The two fields are now tracked and displayed separately.

The global "Average Score" in the Player List is only calculated from the Plain, Minsta and TDM scores.

We have deleted all stats date up to today, because of the aforementioned inaccuracy.

  • Can't you bring back the stats on the map-rating page, as they're not influenced by calculations...

A lot of votes get lost this way. I always find it interesting to see how the maps are rated. Iirc there have been over 60 votes on some maps in one category. now it's back to 3....
